There must have been some event at the neighboring DPAC, which led to an extremely congested exit. We decided to go back down the stairs and took some photos near the Lucky Strike towers and the water. Parking deck was gridlocked at our location (level 5) and cars blocked us in. If we had a marker, we would have asked them to sign the ball.Īfter we walked back the the parking deck, we saw that we were unable to exit. Very nice guys! We noticed the the Durham Bulls quickly went inside, not allowing time for signatures, but the Jumbo Shrimp remained outside for a little while. He later walked up to their dugout and was handed a ball. My son loved this, but wasn't able to catch one. The opposing team (Jumbo Shrimp) would throw a ball over the net after each inning for the kids to catch. Once you make it to the seats, everything was perfect. This was the 4th stop we made! Ridiculous. There was a little area with fridges on the opposite side as the food places (near a bar), which had the discounted canned Bull Durham beer. Discount beer wasn't available there either. Wasted a few more minutes getting one soda and the tickets actually scanned there. We actually found an area where a person took our orders, but we forgot to order a drink and were looking for the discounted Bull Durham beer (on Thursdays), which wasn't available at the normal food places. We ended up cancelling after being there several minutes and moving on to another area since no one was there to help. My husband tried and still couldn't get it to scan. □ We selected our orders and tried scanning our tickets multiple times and it wouldn't work. Our tickets were preloaded with $5 so we attempted to order at one of the first few stations we saw. Moving on to food ordering.keep in mind that we are 36 & 43, so we are familiar with electronics and screens. We had to walk halfway around to another entrance where there was a ticket scanner. Would have been more convenient to have a ticket scanner there at the beginning. When attempting to enter the park, we were close to an opening that we weren't allowed to enter through. My first minor issue was at the parking deck, getting slowed down by paying with a card because my card tap didn't work. Since covid, things have changed for the worse in my opinion. We used to love going to the DBAP multiple times each season. In short, this place and the staff are a 10/10! I highly recommend booking the newly renovated event center for your next event! However, USB connectivity is available and easy to navigate for laptops and iPads. The modern feel of the building is striking and welcoming! They are still working out the kinks of the new system for things like Bluetooth connectivity. The bathrooms have plenty of room, especially if one needs to change clothes, and they are super nice. The kitchen is such a wonderful accompaniment to have and is right next to the room which makes transporting food a breeze. High ceilings and beautiful, tall windows give the room plenty of natural light and add to the ambiance of the space. The room is the perfect size for smaller and bigger events, depending on the set up. They were all super attentive and supportive even on the day of the event. I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful space! John, Kaitlyn, Josh, Olivia, and the remaining staff have been nothing short of amazing for my mom to work with. My mom hosted my baby shower on 3/18 at the newly renovated event center. Laughs and memes is the only excitement that this attraction may bring, not even a sign explaining the landmark exists. Don't waste your time, you are better off gawking at the trees in a local park and wondering how the branches grew in such weird directions! God Blessed Texas and I sure as hell hope he blessed this town because if this is what they expect to draw an actual crowd and drum up business they are screwed. The spectacle of master craftsmanship in furniture design is fake - it's hollow, thick plaster or particle board, nothing is real and the socks aren't even Gucci. World's Largest Disappointment! We had just finished a business meeting and our new recruit suggested this and he was really excited! My business partner and I thought what the hell? Why not? My summary is as follows: The so-called attraction is located between a small children's daycare center and a run down 90's small business shop upon which further examination made us question whether this was a tourist attraction or a place where I would get bonked and robbed within 5 minutes of visiting.
